About Us

The story really begins when a little 8 year-old boy moved from South Korea to the United States with his family . . . but there isn’t enough space to tell ALL of that, so we’ll skip ahead a few years. . .

Halim and I (Angela) met and fell madly in love while attending Texas A&M University . . . or something like that. We started out as best friends, although Halim refused to admit that he had a girl for a best friend. But after Halim asking me out, several months of awkward dating, a break-up, a huge fight and finally some good dating – we were married in December 2002.

We lived in Fort Worth, TX for a few years after being married. Halim attended seminary at Southwestern Baptist, while I taught fourth grade in Fort Worth ISD. We attended Christ Chapel Bible Church and had a great group of friends that were also newlyweds. Things seemed to be going well, but we soon realized that the Lord was calling us to leave . . .

In June 2005, Halim assumed the position of Pastor of Equipping at the Austin Stone Community Church. It’s really his dream job – and we can’t quite figure out how he was able to land his dream job straight out of seminary, but are so grateful that he did. This church has been amazing and the Lord has used our time here thus far to challenge us and grow us more than we could have hoped. We moved to a neighborhood (some lovingly call it a compound) and bought a house nearby some of our best friends, and proceeded to recruit other friends to move there as well. And they did – lending legitimacy to the compound joke. So, here we were, in Austin, but it just didn’t seem right anymore that it was just two of us . . .

Our little boy, Malachi, popped out in October 2007.  And 18 short months later in April 2009, we had a little girl – Evangeline Piper, who more often goes by Evie.  So, now we are four.

We don’t know what all the Lord has in store for us in the coming years – but trust that it will be for our good and for His glory.

This blog is just for us (well, for me) to tell you about what is going on in our family, church and things that the Lord is teaching us as we go.  Thanks for stopping by for a read.
